Socceroos striker John Iredale has landed a move to Danish Superliga club Aalborg BK on a free transfer.
Iredale makes the jump after leaving SV Wehen Wiesbaden, recently relegated to the German third division, in June.
The 24-year-old's club future had been uncertain until Aalborg announced on Tuesday they had signed the Sydneysider.
The Danish outfit earned a promotion back to the top-tier national competition earlier this year after being relegated to the Danish 1st Division in 2023 for the first time since 1986.
Aalborg BK have won four championships, last winning the league and cup in 2014.
Reuniting with former SC Heerenveen youth coach Menno van Dam, Iredale hopes senior minutes at the club will help in his bid to solidify a spot in the Australian national team under Graham Arnold.
The Sydney FC academy product came off the bench to make his international debut in March against Lebanon, going on to net his first Socceroos goal later that month against the same opponent.
"Let's goo!" Iredale wrote on X.
"Can't wait to start this journey!"
His signing comes off the back of four goals scored across 24 games in the 2. Bundesliga for SV Wehen Wiesbaden, who finished 16th out of 18 teams and were relegated after a play-off defeat to Jahn Regensburg.
Iredale reached career heights in the 2022-23 season with the German club, notching 10 goals in 47 games to help secure promotion.
