Socceroo inks new Serie A deal as court battle looms

Socceroos star Cristiano Volpato has received a vote of confidence from Sassuolo amid his preparations for a court battle, re-signing with the Serie A club to guarantee his playing future.

Volpato's contract extension to 2031 was announced on Wednesday morning (AEDT), as a police matter over a positive drug test continues to cloud the 22-year-old's national team prospects.
