Lee Mack came back to haunt England as he scored the winning penalty for the World XI at Soccer Aid on Sunday night.
The comedian and 100% Club host had previously played for the Three Lions but, just like last year, switched allegiances as he scored the crucial spot kick after the score was tied at 2-2 after 90 minutes. Arsene Wegner and Idris Elba's World team went ahead in the first half thanks to a penalty from TikTok icon Noah Beck as Dermot O'Leary and Alex Scott hosted for ITV.
England levelled things up right before the break after Beck gave away a penalty at the other end, which was slotted away by ex TOWIE and I'm A Celebrity star Mark Wright. There were more goals in the second half as Remind Me singer Tom Grennan put England 2-1 up, before ex Love Island winner Kem Cetinay levelled things up, becoming Soccer Aid's joint top scorer with Clarence Seedorf in the process.

With things all square after 90 minutes, the Soccer Aid 2022 teams battled it out in a penalty shoot out and, unfortunately for England, Tom Grennan and Russell Howard missed their spot kicks as Noah Beck, Martin Compston and Kem all found the back of the net with their kicks. Only Mark Wright scored for England, before Lee, who'd missed a series of kicks for England in fixtures gone by, produced the winning penalty.
As he celebrated wildly, his World teammates like Mo Gilligan, Line of Duty star Martin and captain Usain Bolt held him on their shoulders. This year's event raised over £15,600,000 for UNICEFA, with the winners' trophy presented by David Beckham.
