Sobbing child, 4, refused Ryanair flight to visit his nan because of booking issue

A four-year-old boy was left sobbing at the airport after he was refused entry to a Ryanair flight to visit his nan. The incident appears to have been linked to a booking issue, but little Jacob's uncle Ben, who was taking him, is furious with the airline after it proved nearly impossible to get hold of them beforehand.

Jacob Thomas was "holding hands and laughing" with his cousin at Liverpool John Lennon Airport on Thursday (July 28) excited to jet off to Spain to see his nan. But the excitement ended in "tears" as the family was told he could not board the flight.

The trip was planned by Jacob's uncle, Ben, who is from Ormskirk. He was flying to Alicante with his wife and daughter when his brother Justin Thomas decided to let them take his son Jacob with them.
