Christine McGuinness has addressed her fans after posting that she was going on a 'date' following her split from ex hubby Paddy of 11 years. On her Instagram Story on Wednesday (April 12), the mum-of-three told her 710k followers: "I need to show you who I’m seeing later. I’m excited, very excited," adding that she was going out on a 'date'.
The post left many fans excited as some assumed she was going out with a potential new flame. However, on Thursday (April 13), the TV star shared a follow-up video on her Story, explaining not all was what it seemed, as reported by Birmingham Live.
Speaking to the camera, Christine said: "Loads of you are saying 'oh, I'm so happy for you' that I was on a date... It’s my mate, Duncan’s my friend. Duncan’s got a gorgeous partner, I love them both."

She added: "But yeah, I was only taking the p*** when I said I was going on a date. I don't like dates, I’m not doing dates, absolutely not." Christine and Paddy announced their separation over the summer last year.
In a joint statement they said: "We’ll always be a loving family, we still have a great relationship and still live happily in our family home together." In an interview with Women's Own, Christine discussed her living situation with Paddy.
"The children don’t know any different and they’re growing up in a happy and loving home. I just want it to continue like that", she said. "We don’t know what the future holds but right now it works. The thought of eventually co-parenting in separate houses is something I’m going to really struggle with."
Previously speaking about their arrangement, Christine told OK! : "I'm quite happy for him to be there with the children and it's nice for them to see Mummy and Daddy just being alright. We can sit and have a cup of tea together and that's fine."
