'So embarrassing' - Manchester United fans react as Cristiano Ronaldo included in 2022/23 kit launch

Manchester United fans have delivered a firm reaction to Cristiano Ronaldo being included in the club’s 2022/23 kit launch material despite his eagerness to leave the club.

United were reportedly due to unveil their new threads last Friday but the release was pushed back to today. Initially many speculated that it was so new signing Tyrell Malacia could be included in the content.

However, he doesn’t feature in the early shots but, more interestingly, Ronaldo does. In the last week, the superstar attacker has told the club that he wishes to leave Old Trafford.

He is unsatisfied with United’s slow transfer activity and their unlikeliness to earn silverware next season. The 37-year-old has also been unsettled by a 25 per cent reduction in wages, which was enacted after United’s failure to earn a top-four spot.

Ronaldo has not returned to training throughout pre-season so far and will not be on the plane for their tour of Asia and Australia this month. Meanwhile, United has underlined that he is not for sale.

Chelsea are thought to be interested in a transfer with new owner Todd Boehly keen to splash the cash this summer. While the majority of supporters like the retro-style kit, many are not a fan of the club keeping Ronaldo in the promo pieces.

It prompted a stern reaction online, with some Twitter users calling his inclusion "embarrassing."
