Snowcat Ridge, Florida’s first snow park, opens for its second season

ORLANDO, Fla. — Snowcat Ridge, Florida’s first and only snow park, is open for its 2021-2022 season with upgrades and new offerings for guests at the Dade City attraction.

Back for a second year, the park provides family and friends the opportunity to slide down a 60-foot tall, 400-foot long snow tubing hill or play inside a 10,000-square-foot Arctic Igloo. At the bottom of the slopes is an Alpine Village with food, drinks, shopping and bonfires for warming up.

New for this year, Snowcat Ridge brings guests an ice skating ribbon and an Eskimo Outpost with private igloo rentals. During the offseason, the park worked on adding new food and drink outlets and capacity upgrades throughout the site.

Snowcat Ridge CEO Benjamin Nagengast previously said that the slopes, made from real snow and ice, ran on “two parts magic, one part water.”

During its first season, Snowcat Ridge faced several hurdles, including a temporary snow shortage and code violations, which the attraction quickly fixed. The park closed on Jan. 19, earlier than originally anticipated, so that operators could improve the attraction.

Snow park tickets, starting at $26.95, are now on sale online for select dates Nov. 10-March 27. Parking costs $14.02 per vehicle online. All tickets are $5 more at the box office. For more information about Snowcat Ridge (27839 Saint Joe Road in Dade City), visit snowcatridge.com.
