Snow Squalls To Create Dangerous Travel Conditions In Parts Of Northeast On Friday

A round of heavy snow showers and squalls marching east across portions of the mid-Atlantic and Northeast on Friday will lead to dangerous travel conditions on the highways during one of the busiest travel days of the year, according to AccuWeather meteorologists.

A fresh blast of cold air and atmospheric energy arriving in the region will be responsible for the snow threat. The same blast of cold air will lead to a December-like chill in the region this weekend while reinforcing the ongoing, major lake-effect snow event downwind of the Great Lakes.
