Man’s best friend could soon help us eradicate one of humanity’s most annoying pests.

Sniffing dogs have outperformed trained human searchers in the first-ever real-world hunt for the eggs of crop-decimating, invasive spotted lanternflies, Virginia Tech said Tuesday.
