A sneaky thief stole a woman's mobile phone after watching her accidentally leaving it in a bar.
Amber Dunn saw the victim drop the £400 phone on a bench in the outside seating area of a pub at Newcastle's Central Station and loitered nearby until deciding to grab it. A court heard that the hapless 25-year-old's deceitful actions were captured on two sets of CCTV and, as she was already known to police, she was easily identified.
Dunn, formerly of South Shields but now of no fixed abode, appeared at Newcastle Magistrates' Court this week to plead guilty to one count of theft by finding. She was ordered to pay the victim £400 in compensation as the phone was never recovered.
