As soon as you see Project Shadowglass in action, you know that something special is going on. The game is presented with pixelated graphics that are dripping in nostalgia, however its revolutionary 3D pixel art technology means you have full 360 degree freedom to move around and explore this world, and at the Future Games Show Spring Showcase powered by HyperX we got a world exclusive gameplay teaser to showcase some never-before-seen features.
In Project Shadowglass you play as a downtrodden thief fighting back against an oppressive society, by using your skills to steal valuables and ancient artifacts from under the noses of the rich. This is a fully immersive sim, so you'll need to spend time acquiring intel and casing the location of your next target, while gathering the items and tool upgrades required to seamlessly pull off the heist.
You'll also need to pay attention to the environment when it comes to carrying out your raid, lurking in the shadows and extinguishing lights to avoid being spotted. Climbing across rooftops and sneaking up behind guards to knock them out will help you remain undetected, but walking across a loud surface or causing noise by bumping things over could lead to unwanted attention, where you'll have to draw your sword and deal with the problem head on.
Project Shadowglass is planning an Early Access release on PC in 2027, though there is also a demo coming in 2026, so make sure you wishlist it now on Steam to be notified when that becomes available. Future releases on consoles are also planned, so follow developer Dominick John on X for updates as they happen.
