A Weston family thought it was a simple sale through Facebook Marketplace to clear an unused phone from their home. But for the alleged robbers, it was a premeditated crime - they arrived prepared and executed a swift "snatch and run".
In early September, the couple from Canberra's south-west decided to sell the wife's Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, worth nearly $3000.
"We put it on Facebook Marketplace a few weeks ago asking for $2300," the 39-year-old woman told The Canberra Times. She requested anonymity after being left "petrified" by what unfolded during the routine online sale attempt.
