Snapchat fans are not impressed with the social media platform's latest edition, with many calling for its removal. “My AI”, powered by OpenAI’s GPT technology, launched last week.
It offers users the chance to ask the chatbot questions and get rapid responses. But following its roll-out, people have blasted its impact on Snapchat, with some saying it's 'creepy' and lots of users describing it as 'annoying' and 'frustrating'.
One person posted on Twitter: "Snapchat how do I get rid of this ridiculous AI bo**x you sent me?", another user said: "Remove this AI off my Snapchat immediately."

A third wrote: "Force an AI update that you can’t delete unless you pay a monthly subscription? Okay you convinced me, I’ll delete the whole app and account."
But not all users are against the addition. One person said: "Snapchat AI is so smart omg I have spent like an hour chatting to them… I’m so awkward talking to real people it was nice they understood everything I talked about it was weird."
And lots of people shared online the hilarious chats they had with the AI bot, including what the robot thought about football.
What is My AI on Snapchat, and how do I use it?
According to Snapchat, My AI is an experimental, friendly, chatbot currently available to Snapchatters.
A spokesperson said: "In a chat conversation, My AI can answer a burning trivia question, offer advice on the perfect gift for your BFF’s birthday, help plan a hiking trip for a long weekend, or suggest what to make for dinner. My AI is there to help and to connect you more deeply to the people and things you care about most.
"You can give My AI a nickname and tell it about your likes (and dislikes)!
"We’re constantly working to improve and evolve My AI, but it’s possible My AI’s responses may include biased, incorrect, harmful, or misleading content. Because My AI is an evolving feature, you should always independently check answers provided by My AI before relying on any advice, and you should not share confidential or sensitive information.
"Snapchatters can easily send feedback to our ram by long pressing on any response from My AI to share more on what they'd like to see more or less of while we continue to train My Ai.
"My AI is powered by OpenAI's ChatGPT technology, with additional attributes and safety controls unique to Snapchat. We believe there should be transparency when AI is involved in content creation. If you share content generated by My AI with others, please let them know AI was involved in your work."
