Smoke billowed from the windows of an abandoned building as it burned for the third time in seven months.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service was called to the huge building on Regent Road, at the junction of Brunswick Place, at 3.26pm on Monday, January 30. Firefighters arrived at the scene three minutes later to find smoke billowing from the top floor windows of the property.
Seven fire engines were at the scene along with an aerial platform and dozens of firefighters. Crews had to force entry into the building before a number of firefighters went inside to fight the fire.

Two firefighters on an aerial platform were also firing water through the windows of the building. Merseyside Police were also in attendance at the incident to help assist with road closures.
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Spokesperson said: "On arrival crews found smoke issuing from a brick built building. Firefighters have forced entry to the property and firefighting operations are underway. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are also fighting the fire externally.
"Road closures are in place on Regent Road at its junctions with Brunswick Place, Dunnett Street and Lower Bank View. Please avoid the area.
"Nearby residents and businesses should keep windows and doors closed. Anyone with existing medical conditions should keep medicine nearby and call NHS 111 if ill effects occur."
The North West Ambulance Service was not in attendance and The ECHO understands nobody has been injured in this incident.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue said: "Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service is currently dealing with a building fire on the junction of Regent Road and Brunswick Place, Bootle."
This is at least the third time the building has gone up in flames in the last seven months.
Crews were called at 7pm on June 1, 2022., following reports of the building being on fire. They were also called just eight days ago after tyres and rubbish went up in flames.
