'Smiley, happy' Leeds baby girl dies just months after birth due to rare condition

Ava Louise was a miracle baby. Her mum, Hannah, didn't know she was pregnant with Ava until the moment she was born. Hannah was experiencing stomach pains and assumed it was a problem with her appendix.

But when Hannah's mum took her to A&E and she went to the toilet, she got a bit of a surprise. Ava was born at 34 weeks and immediately the family fell in love, but sadly she passed away nine months later following complications.

Due to the premature birth, Ava was born with yellow skin which led to her being put into an incubator whilst doctors performed tests. Following the tests, Ava was diagnosed with a very rare condition called Allagiles Syndrome.
