The letterbox is one of the biggest culprits for heat loss as it is "hugely draughty" and manages to send cold air through to multiple other rooms. Sharing her solution, she said: "You can simply stop this with a letter box brush cover."
A visual demonstration showed a heat monitor and the drastic difference a cover can make to not only the entrance but the hallway overall.
She added: "If you want to double down on excluding draughts and keeping your heat in you can also install a door curtain." A charity shop curtain was suggested to further cut back on costs.
The Home Genie then manufactured herself a draught excluder from an old pair of jeans stuffed with socks and tied at the ends. The "no sew" hack was a cost-effective method of keeping every room protected from the cold and was created in only a matter of minutes.
The homeowner admitted the bathroom was her biggest issue as old windows would barely retain any heat. With cling film, double-sided sticky tape and a hair dryer, Georgina attached and "melted" the cling film to the window which effectively acted as a double skin, preventing the gaps in the wood from losing heat.
The Home Expert revealed that by following these simple life hacks, her homeowner can expect to save over £1,000 a month on heating.
