Slow Horses lands sixth season as AppleTV+ confirms renewal

Slow Horses has been renewed for season six, Apple TV+ bosses have confirmed.

Slough House lovers can rejoice as the popular spy series will definitely be back for another season. Season six of the dark-comedy drama will be made up of six new episodes.

The show is based on the novel of the same name by Mick Herron, which is part of the author’s Slough House series.

Jay Hunt, creative director, Europe, Apple TV+ said: “Audiences around the world have fallen in love with the Slow Horses, and I’m delighted that Gary Oldman will be leading this star-studded cast on another acerbic and action-packed adventure.”

It is set to be created by co-executive producer Gaby Chiappe. Season four director Adam Randall will also return to the helm for the new instalment.

Here is everything we know about what is coming:

What will Season 6 be about?

Season six will consist of six episodes see your favourite misfits on the run.

Diana Taverner (played by Kristin Scott Thomas) will embroil them all in a fatally high-stakes game of retaliation and revenge.

Who will star in Season 6?

Gary Oldman is back as Jackson Lamb, the leader of a merry band of MI5 rejects known as the ‘slow horses’, who end up in Slough House due to their own career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.

Kristin Scott Thomas also stars as MI5 deputy boss Diana Taverner, alongside Jonathan Pryce, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Ruth Bradley, Tom Brooke and Samuel West.

There will also be returns for fan-favourite characters River Cartwright (Jack Lowden), Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung), Louisa Guy (Rosalind Eleazar) and Catherine Standish (Saskia Reeves).

When is it coming out?

No official date has been given yet. Season four just wrapped up last week, ending Cartwright finding out some deeply personal news.

Season five was announced earlier this year, so fans will have to wait for that first, but can rest easy knowing that the story doesn’t end here.
