Slovakia’s Tamara Potocká received medical attention at the side of the pool at Paris’ La Défense Arena on Friday morning after experiencing a health concern. Potocká was attended to and subsequently carried off on a backboard following her participation in the heats of the 200m individual medley event, as confirmed by a statement from Paris 2024.

The statement released by Paris 2024 acknowledged the incident, stating, “An athlete was unwell following the third heat of the women’s 200m Individual Medley. She was immediately cared for by the medical teams. We wish her a speedy recovery. In order to respect medical confidentiality, we will not comment further.”

Paris 2024 deferred any further inquiries to the Slovakian Olympic Committee (SOC), while CNN has sought additional information on Potocká’s condition from the SOC.

World Aquatics, when contacted by CNN, redirected queries to Paris 2024. The International Olympic Committee has not yet responded to requests for comments on the matter.

As the situation unfolds, the well-being and recovery of Tamara Potocká remain a primary concern for all involved in the Paris 2024 Olympics. Updates on her condition are eagerly awaited by fans and supporters of the Slovakian swimmer.
