Sligo Rovers set to sign Welsh youth international Robbie Burton from Dinamo Zagreb following Motherwell win

Sligo Rovers are poised to sign a player from Dinamo Zagreb.

Welsh youth international Robbie Burton, who plays as a midfielder, is expected to join on loan from the Croatian side for the rest of the season.

Rovers are celebrating after a famous European win over Motherwell at the Showgrounds last night.

But amid the jubilant scenes, club chiefs were busy filing paperwork ahead of last night's League of Ireland transfer deadline.

Mirror Sport understands that the Bit O'Red did get the deal done in time and are merely awaiting clearance before making it official.

Burton, 22, was previously with Arsenal and played regularly for their Under-23 side.

He was snapped up by Dinamo Zagreb in 2020 and made 14 appearances between their first and second teams before being loaned out to fellow Croatian side Istra 1961.
