Sleep Number is slashing prices on some of our favorite smart mattresses to make room for five new models — here's what we know

Sleep Number ComfortNext Collection, comprising three beds in an open room with a brown hardwood floor and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Big changes are coming to Sleep Number. The smart bed company recently announced a refresh of its entire lineup, introducing five new models that pair the brand's signature customization with upgraded tech and materials. These new smart beds will be available online and in stores from March 23.

This marks Sleep Number's first major product reset in over a decade and the shake-up sees the product line downsized from 12 to seven, simplifying the shopping process for customers seeking the best mattress for their needs.

“This new portfolio represents the very best of Sleep Number, grounded in innovation leadership and a deep understanding of what matters most to the consumer,” said Melissa Barra, Sleep Number’s Chief Product and Enterprise Strategy Officer, in a statement.

And there's excellent news for bargain hunters — you can now save big on soon-to-be-discontinued smart beds in Sleep Number's last chance mattress sale. Here's everything you need to know...

Inside Sleep Number's new smart bed collections

Sleep Number rates among the best smart beds we've tested and the new lineup consists of three distinct Collections: ComfortMode, ComfortNext, and Climate. Here's a brief rundown of their features, pricing, and availability:

Sleep Number ComfortMode Collection

The entry-level Sleep Number ComfortMode was released in January 2026 and retails for $1,699 in a queen-size. It's currently the cheapest mattress at Sleep Number and is set to retain that label post-refresh.

This 10" bed has four distinct layers: 2.5" of ceramic gel memory foam, a 1" layer of support foam, adjustable air chambers for customizable firmness on either side of the bed, and a 1" base layer of foam.

Notably, the ComfortMode doesn't require an app or wireless connectivity to operate, as everything is controlled via the included remote. This design is meant to appeal to sleepers who want to fully disconnect before bed.

Joining it is the Sleep Number ComfortMode Lux, which adds an inch of foam for extra comfort and support, especially for the hips. It's set to release on March 23, with a queen-size retailing for $2,099.

Sleep Number ComfortNext Collection

The mid-tier Sleep Number ComfortNext Collection introduces three new app-controlled smart beds with integrated sleep tracking and enhanced comfort layers for pressure relief and full-body support. All ComfortNext models will be available March 23:

  • Sleep Number ComfortNext (12"): A hybrid of foam and air with five zones of advanced pressure relief targeting the hips, shoulders, and knees; it starts at $2,999 for a queen.
  • Sleep Number ComfortNext Lux (13"): Adds a Tri‑Brid design — which is a combination of micro coils, foam, and air for deeper pressure relief — and retails for $3,999 in a queen.
  • Sleep Number ComfortNext Ultra (14"): Builds upon the ComfortNext Lux by adding another inch of the Tri‑Brid core for maximum support and relief; a queen-size sells for $4,499.

Sleep Number Climate Collection

The Sleep Number Climate Collection features no new models. Both beds in this line are existing ones — and arguably the brand's most popular. These high-tech cooling mattresses combine targeted temperature control with Sleep Number's signature adjustable firmness and integrated sleep tracking.

Released in 2024, the Sleep Number ClimateCool has a dynamic airflow system to pull heat away from your body, along with a breathable cover and multiple layers of ceramic gel cooling foam. Each side of the bed can be adjusted up to 15 degrees cooler.

A queen-size ClimateCool retails for $5,749, but is discounted to $5,174 during the latest Sleep Number sale.

The Sleep Number Climate360 came out in 2022 and remains the brand's top-of-the-line model. It offers comprehensive temperature control, allowing sleepers to heat or cool their side of the bed by as much as 30°F. It's also the only Sleep Number bed to come with a smart adjustable base as standard.

The Climate360 retails for $10,249 in a queen size, but is currently on sale for $9,224.10.

Can you still buy previous Sleep Number models?

When the new Sleep Number lineup launches we'll be bidding farewell to the Classic, Performance and Innovation collections — but hold your tears.

To make room for new stock, the Sleep Number clearance event cuts up to 40% off its soon-to-be-discontinued models. It's a great opportunity to get a Sleep Number smart bed for less. All purchases come with a 100-night trial and a 15-year warranty. Note that shipping costs extra.
