Renowned guitarist Slash, known for his iconic top hat and as a member of Guns n’ Roses, recently dropped a new single on Friday. The track is a cover of the classic Fleetwood Mac song 'Oh Well,' originally released in 1969 by Peter Green.
For this rendition, Slash enlisted the vocal talents of country music sensation Chris Stapleton. Stapleton is set to showcase his musical prowess as the guest performer on 'Saturday Night Live' alongside host Ryan Gosling this weekend.
The single 'Oh Well' is part of Slash's upcoming solo album titled 'Orgy of the Damned,' scheduled for release on May 17 under Gibson Records. This album marks Slash's sixth solo project, following his successful collaborations with Myles Kennedy & the Conspirators on previous records.
In a statement, Slash praised Peter Green as one of the greatest singer-songwriter-guitar players, comparing him to legends like Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Nick Taylor. Slash expressed his admiration for the guitar riff in 'Oh Well,' a song he first heard on the radio at the age of 13.
Aside from Chris Stapleton, Slash's new album features a star-studded lineup of artists including Brian Johnson of AC/DC, Beth Hart, Iggy Pop, Billy F. Gibbons from ZZ Top, Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Demi Lovato, and Tash Neal on vocals.
Slash's enduring trademark look, showcased in iconic Guns n’ Roses music videos like 'November Rain,' has been a constant for over four decades. Fans can anticipate a diverse and exciting musical journey with the release of 'Orgy of the Damned' next month.
