A man has appeared in private at court for a second time on a charge of murdering his brother-in-law.

Finlay Macdonald, 39, from Tarskavaig, is also accused of stabbing his wife Rowena, the mother of his four children, with a knife or similar instrument to her severe injury and danger of life.

This is said to have taken place at a property on Tarskavaig, around 9am last Wednesday, August 10.

In addition, Macdonald faces another two charges of the attempted murder of local chiropractor John Don MacKenzie and his wife Fay in Dornie.

MacDonald appeared in private at Inverness Sheriff Court today (August 19), a week after his first appearance, but again made no plea.

It's alleged that MacDonald, murdered his sister's husband John MacKinnon by discharging a shotgun and shooting him on the body at his home in the Teangue area, around 9.30am on August 10.

Later, 63-year-old Fay Mackenzie was shot on the head and body to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement on Wednesday in the Dornie area.

Her husband, local chiropractor John Don MacKenzie, was allegedly struck by Macdonald with the shotgun repeatedly, striking him on the body to his severe injury and danger of life.

MacDonald was committed for further examination and remanded in custody again on Friday. His next appearance is to be confirmed.
