One Scotland fan took his rivalry with England to new heights last night - by decking himself out head-to-toe in Sweden 's colours. England's Women took on the Swedes in last night's Euro 2022 semi-final in Sheffield, with the Lionesses romping to a 4-0 victory and securing themselves a place in this weekend's final. But it seems the Scandinavians weren't just being cheered on by their own visiting supporters, with one prominent member of the Tartan Army spotted on Sky Sports News.
We all know how fiercely competitive England and Scotland fans can be when it comes to the men's game, and it seems the intense rivalry stretches all the way to the women's game as well. As Sky Sports reporter Peter Stevenson interviewed several Sweden fans in the city centre before the match kicked off, he was surprised to stumble across one particular punter who was only an honorary Swede for the evening.
Stevenson immediately quizzed him on where he was really from, saying: "That's not a Swedish accent." He quickly responded: "A little bit north of the border, but I couldn't support England, could I?"
England will play the winner of tonight's second Euro 2022 semi-final between Germany and France at Wembley on Sunday - and we suspect this punter might be heading to his nearest sports shop looking for a new jersey before kick-off.
