It's been six months since the launch of the one-of-a-kind TV from Sky. Sky Glass is the first streaming TV to launch in the UK, relying purely on a broadband connection to bring programmes to homes.
The unique TV, which came out on October 18, 2021, doesn't rely on a satellite dish or TV box, instead it requires a strong internet speed to stream channels to you. Initially, only priority customers at Sky were able to buy the TV but now the device is available to all, as long as they're a Sky customer of course.
Sky says the Glass TV continues to get better, with several updates and new apps having launched including Apple TV+, as well as the roll-out of new speaker fascias.

It's also the only TV with Sky and other apps inside.
The TV also comes in three sizes, small 43”, medium 55” and large 65 ”, as well as five colours, Ocean Blue, Ceramic White, Racing Green, Dusky Pink, or Anthracite Black, and is the world’s first TV to be certified as a Carbon Neutral product, according to Sky.
In terms of the latest updates, Sky has added popular apps including Apple TV+ to its offering. The built-in Spotify app gives users access to a world of music on their TV. If you're buying Sky Glass you'll need to make sure that you have a good internet connection, after all the TV has ditched the satellite dish and TV box for the internet router. The minimum internet speed required for Sky Glass is 10Mbps, which many broadband providers can now actually deliver for a reasonable price too.
Internet speeds will need to be at least 25Mbps if you want to watch Sky Sports, Sky Cinema or TV shows in ultra HD to be able to take advantage of Sky Glass's 4k resolution. To watch from another room, your average internet speed till need to be between 30 and 40Mbps.
There's also the need to have a Sky subscription of some sort. Sky Glass requires its Ultimate TV offering, which pairs Sky's signature offering with Netflix at a price of £26 per month, as a minimum. There are other packages you can get - see a range of them here.
Sky Glass comes with a mounting bracket cleverly integrated into the TV, or a sleek colour matched stand.
