Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers had perhaps his best regular season yet this year, averaging 25.9 points per game, as well as career highs in rebounds per game (12.5) and shooting accuracy (56.3%).
In Game 1 of the Lakers’ first-round playoff series against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday, he played very well, putting up 22 points on 10-of-17 shooting, 12 rebounds, seven blocked shots, three steals and three assists in a 128-112 win.
But he played well beneath his standards in Game 2 on Wednesday, hitting 4-of-14 from the field and scoring just 13 points as L.A. fell, 103-93.
Fox Sports 1 personality Skip Bayless took to Twitter to criticize Davis for not getting it done, claiming that at least in this game, his initials A.D. stood for always disappointing.

As he has at times in recent weeks, Davis was swarmed as soon as he got his hands on the ball, and his teammates and coaching staff will need to help him help himself to overcome this defensive strategy.
Meanwhile, Xavier Tillman Sr., who is filling in for the injured Steven Adams, had the game of his life with 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting and 13 rebounds.
The Lakers will need A.D. to stand for absolutely dominant as the series moves to Los Angeles for Game 3 and Game 4.
