Skip Bayless offers warning to Joe Burrow doubters

Those who doubt Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow or even throw around words like overpaid are looking good to start the 2023 season.

But Skip Bayless would advise caution with that.

An offer for Bengals fans

Taking to Twitter after Cincinnati’s 1-3 start and Burrow’s latest poor showing while he plays through a calf injury, Bayless wrote the following:

“Keep receipts on everyone writing off Joe Burrow as ‘overpaid.’ When he gets healthy, he will make them all look stupid.”

Still, that’s little comfort to Bengals fans who wanted to see the team contend for a title this year. If nothing else, they can take solace in the fact Bayless’ statement figures to prove true over the long run.

That’s not to suggest this season is a wash, though. The Bengals rattled off 10 straight wins last year, so the locker room knows how to go on a run. An attempt to right the proverbial ship will start in Week 5, where the Bengals still plan to start Burrow.
