Skins fans go wild as original cast reunite for nostalgic lunch reunite 15 years on

The original cast of E4 hit Skins, including Nicholas Hoult and Kaya Scodelario, reunited for a nostalgic lunch 15 years after the series first aired.

The controversial teen drama ran from 2007 to 2013 and followed the lives of a group of teenagers from Bristol, tackling issues such as mental illness, eating disorders and substance abuse.

It's hard to believe that it's been 15 years since Skins first shot onto our TV screens, but the cast reunited to reminisce over the show that shot the cast to fame.

Nicholas and Kaya were joined by fellow cast members Joe Dempsie and Larissa Wilson and shared a nostalgic snap of the group with fans as they soaked up the sunshine.

Kaya, 30, who played Effie Stonem beamed to the camera as she sat next to Nicholas, 32, who played her older brother Tony.

Opposite them was Larissa, 33, who portrayed Jal Frazer and Joe, 35, best known for playing Chris Miles.

Larissa, who was joined by her daughter on the lunch date, also uploaded a separate picture of Kaya and Joe, whom she lived with for several years.

The snap of first generation Skins stars sent fans wild, with one writing: “I miss my og skins cast <33,” as a second posted: “Am literally about to cry man, this low key skins first gen reunion… (with bb!)”

“‘I LITERALLY just finished rewatching last night I can’t,” a third fam exclaimed as another added: “SHUT UP THE SKINS REUNION WE ALL ASKED FOR.”

For many millennials, Skins took them through their difficult teenage years as a group of runaway teenagers and their dysfunctional families navigated through life in the late 2000s to early 2010s.

The hard-hitting E4 programme featured hilarious moments and well-written, multi-faceted characters, and it dealt with prevalent issues from hard drugs to eating disorders and everything in between.

Running for six years and winning numerous awards, including Best TV Show at the 2011 NME Awards, many were sad to say goodbye to the quirky pals when the show finally ended once and for all in 2013.

The unique show catapulted famous faces to global success, as handsome heartthrob Nichola made it big in Hollywood, and appeared in the X Men franchise playing Henry McCoy, otherwise known as Beast.

Meanwhile, Kaya similarly became a Hollywood mainstay, starring in all three films in the Maze Runner trilogy and alongside Johnny Depp in the Pirate of the Caribbean movie Dead Men Tell No Tales.
