Skate Season 2 Brings Co-Op, New Locations, and Major Gameplay Upgrades as EA Tries to Win Players Back

The dry period in skate is finally going to end as Season 2 of skate starts on December 2nd, 2025. Season 2 is bringing a lot of content to skate. From new modes, challenges, and skating areas to changing the atmosphere of the game — Season 2 has a lot in store.

Skate is travelling back in time to the neon-punk 80s era, where skating thrived. This shift in setting was much needed after fans had been complaining about the atmosphere in the game.

The new settings are just the tip of the iceberg; there is so much content to talk about.

What’s Coming In Skate Season 2

Firstly, San Vansterdam is getting a facelift. There are going to be several new and reworked skateable locations in the game, like the Casper Hotel Rooftop, Eelside Tunnels, the Museum of Natural History Roof Patio, and the Canal Building.

You can explore and skate these new areas with your friends in the new co-op mode. Own The Lot is going to be Skate’s new co-op mode, which allows squads of 1-4 to team up and complete timed objectives together. To make it even more fun, Season 2 is also introducing Party Voice chat and Party Beacons (to signal and locate parties in the world).

On the gameplay side, Season 2 is also bringing new tricks. For the first time in the franchise, the game will have “Impossible” flips and an expanded handplant system with various variants like one-foot, no-foot, and Fakie handplants.

You can even record yourself doing this trick and edit it, as the replay editor is also getting revamped. It will have better trimming, camera framing, and keyframes (finally). The cosmetics are also getting better with Season 2, with the new Skate pass, and the game will include gear from brands like adidas and many others that the fans have been requesting.

And, if all that ever gets boring, you have your Daily and Weekly Challenges to keep you hooked. Overall, Season 2 has the potential to start a comeback for skate.
