The skate. community got its first official patch of 2026 this week as version 0.29.6 went live on January 20, bringing a fresh round of bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements ahead of the upcoming Spring Pop-Off seasonal event on February 10. Unlike past updates, this one focuses on polishing core systems and resolving issues players have complained about in the past weeks.
The skate. team shared the patch in this week’s The Weekly Grind developer blog, confirming that while the update doesn’t overhaul gameplay or add major new content, it lays important groundwork for what’s coming next.
It includes preparations for the Spring Pop-Off, which is the second big event of Season 2. The event is expected to introduce more challenges, cosmetics, and overall more content. It’s going to launch on February 10, and Patch 0.29.6 is laying the groundwork for that.
