SK Hynix is making one of its biggest bets yet on the artificial intelligence boom, announcing plans to invest 54 trillion Korean won, or about $38.1 billion, to expand its memory chip manufacturing capacity as demand for AI hardware continues to outpace supply.

The South Korean semiconductor giant said Friday it will build two new fabrication plants dedicated to next-generation memory products, reinforcing its long-term strategy to remain a leading supplier of chips powering AI data centers and high-performance computing systems.
