Sixth time lucky: Maitland chef wins national title at annual cook-off

Hard work and persistence have paid off for Hunter Valley chef Ashleigh Handsaker.

The 23-year-old sous chef at Iron Gate Kitchen in Pokolbin was last week named the 2026 Nestlé Golden Chef of the Year.
