Officers investigating the joyriders who rammed into a garda car in Cherry Orchard on Monday night have searched houses in the area and seized electronics.
Two female officers who were in the garda car that was attacked are now off duty and are being assisted by support groups and counselling services. Their patrol car was rammed twice by one of the joyriders as a mob cheered them on during the terrifying incident.
This morning, gardai searched six houses in the wider Ballyfermot area. These searches were "focused on evidence gathering" and a number of items including electronical devices were seized by officers.
No arrests have been yet been made and investigations are ongoing. A garda spokesman said they are continuing to ask anyone with information to come forward.
He said: "Gardai continue to appeal to any member of the public who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information on this incident to contact Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 666 7200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station."
