A tiny street is surrounded by police tape as forensics officers investigate.
Merseyside Police officers have been in attendance on Pennington Street in Walton since Sunday evening. A police cordon is in place surrounding the entrance to an alleyway and six houses on the road.
Pictures from the scene show a police van, with a forensics vehicle also in attendance. Vehicles inside the cordon are unable to move as officers continue to investigate.

Witnesses told the ECHO officers had been in attendance on the road since Sunday night. The ECHO understands police have put a cordon in place following an assault in the area.
Merseyside Police has been approached for more information on this incident.
