A group of women were involved in a horrific brawl during a horse racing event in Australia as onlookers pleaded with them to stop.
The incident is believed to have taken place in Brisbane as part of the Spring Racing Carnival, which includes racing events across the country.
The shocking scenes begin when one female in a green dress races towards another as they move down a walkway, landing a brutal flying knee to send her backwards to the ground.
A man accompanying the females tries in vain to stop the violence, as another woman runs over and jumps in as the pair roll around.
As the brawl continues, a woman is seen pinned up against railings while unable to break away, holding an umbrella.
The footage also shows a female in a white dress landing some sickening punches to the head of another while she lays stricken on the ground.
Several men attempt to intervene but the scrap spirals out of control with the girls seen dragging each other by the hair and trading blows on the floor.
A male onlooker is heard pleading with the women to stop the violence, insisting: "Oi, oi, stop it! Get off her! Don't hit her - get off her."
A statement from Queensland Police read: "Our searches did not locate any incidents of this nature that police were called to attend, nor any subsequent reports made."
The event took place as part of the carnival which culminated in the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday, won by Gold Trip.
Jockey Mark Zahra described the victory in Australia's biggest race as a 'miracle', finishing ahead of Emissary and High Emocean at Flemington.
"This time last year I was in Byron Bay and I was getting told off for drinking too much," Zahra said.
"I felt terrible and I was drinking my way out of it. [My wife] was saying, 'Don't drink too much'. I said, 'What do you want me to do? My horse just won the Melbourne Cup.'
"It could have been my ride. Redemption day today. For today to come, it is just unbelievable. Mum used to give me the day off as a kid to watch this race so it's absolutely surreal to win it."
