Meningitis cases are currently on the rise in the UK.
Health experts have warned that the infection rose four-fold at its highest following the restrictions of the coronavirus pandemic being lifted. According to charity Meningitis Now, hospital cases rose to 205 last year - up from 80 in 2021.
The disease is an infection of the membrane protecting the brain and spinal cord caused by viruses. It can affect anyone, but is most common in babies, young children, teenagers and young adults.
