Six members of the Comanchero bikie gang have been arrested in Adelaide with police believing the operation will significantly disrupt their activities.

Police say those arrested are all believed to be senior members of the gang in SA.

They were detained at a park in Adelaide's inner north on Thursday night and charged with offences under SA's criminal association laws, which prevent three or more members of a declared criminal organisation from gathering in public.

Detective Chief Inspector Darren Fielke said the arrests would significantly hamper and disrupt the gang's activities with such gatherings used to plan and strategise and where "directions are given, decisions are made".

"We've taken out some of the key decision-makers of the Comanchero in South Australia in this particular incident," he said.

"If you take away decision-makers and leaders of a group you have a distinct impact on their day-to-day activities and whatever they may or may not be planning."

Insp Fielke said while five of the men had been bailed, conditions on their release would allow for continued checks on their activities.

They will appear in Adelaide Magistrates Court on October 7.

The sixth man was refused police bail and further charged with breaching an intervention order over an unrelated incident.

He was expected to appear in Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday.
