Arsenal waved farewell to a number of first-team stars throughout the summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta and Edu continued their rebuild of the current squad at the Emirates Stadium with a number of tricky decisions. Those calls throughout the window appear to have been the right ones with the North Londoners having enjoyed an excellent start to the season and currently sitting top of the Premier League.
With that being said, Mirror Sport takes a look at all of the players Arsenal decided to sell this summer and how they have got on with their new clubs with the new season now almost a quarter of the way through.
Matteo Guendouzi
The Gunners’ most lucrative sale of the summer, French midfielder Guendouzi is currently with the same club as last season having completed a permanent switch to Ligue 1 giants Marseille with a buy clause having been written into his previous loan switch.
After a stunning season last term in which the former Lorient man hit five goals and notched 14 assists, Guendouzi hasn’t quite been able to keep up that level of productivity this term.
In his first nine appearances of the season in all competitions, he has created two goals but that is surely likely to change throughout the remainder of the campaign with the midfielder a consistent starter and having also been granted the Marseille captains’ armband in last weekend’s win over Lille.

Lucas Torreira
From one midfielder to another who spent last season out on loan, the Uruguayan was with Fiorentina last term and it was reported that the Serie A side wanted to retain his services.
However, they were not able to agree terms with Arsenal as Torreira completed a permanent move to Turkish giants Galatasaray instead where he is set to play alongside former Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata.
Since arriving in Istanbul, Torreira has made five appearances for Galatasaray - four of those outings being starts.
Bernd Leno
After falling out of favour last summer - Aaron Ramsdale having usurped him in the Gunners’ goalkeeping pecking order - it always looked as though German international Leno would quit the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Having been linked to a host of clubs, he elected to remain in London having c ompleted a move to newly-promoted Fulham. After starting his first two matches on the bench, Leno has since seized the number one shirt.
He has yet to keep a clean sheet for the Cottagers despite having got two wins already under his belt. The German was on the losing side upon his return to the Emirates Stadium last month.
Konstantinos Mavropanos
A player some Arsenal fans will have been forgiven for forgetting that he was still officially a Gunner last term, Greek international Mavropanos completed a bargain move to VfB Stuttgart after helping the German side retain their Bundesliga status last season.
The 24-year-old has been key once again over the opening weeks of the campaign having started every single game. Despite Stuttgart having failed to win a league game so far, they have only lost once (five draws).
After notching an assist in the recent 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich, Mavropanos could be a doubt for the next few weeks having been withdrawn through injury in the same game.
Hector Bellerin
Whilst Mavropanos has played a full part for his side so far this season, the same cannot quite be said of Hector Bellerin. The Spanish international was granted a free transfer to former club Barcelona in the summer.
Issues over his registration saw him miss the recent victory over Sevilla earlier this month but he was finally granted his debut for the Catalan giants in last weekend’s slender success over Cadiz.
He played the full 90 minutes of that game and will hope to build upon that in the showdown with Elche on Saturday afternoon.
Alexandre Lacazette
Speaking of players returning to former clubs, French striker Lacazette re-signed for Lyon having seen his contract at the Emirates Stadium expire in the summer.
The striker has enjoyed his reunion with the Ligue 1 outfit having scored four goals and notched an assist from his opening seven games.
However, the Frenchman is set to undergo surgery for a polyp on his vocal cords. According to reports, the growth has been causing him immense pain and changing his voice - as shown in a viral interview following Lyon’s recent defeat to AS Monaco.
