Six Arrested In Gang Assault Following Charter School Graduation Stabbing

Riots erupt in Dublin after school children stabbed

Six individuals have been arrested and are now facing gang assault charges following a stabbing incident that occurred after a charter school graduation at Hofstra University on Long Island, New York.

The Nassau County Police Department identified the suspects as Isaiah Moore, 19, Devon Moore, 19, Taiwan Jackson, 23, Unique Pruitt, 21, Devon Fenner, 18, and Zachariah Fulton, 19, all hailing from Hempstead, New York. The arrests were made in relation to an altercation that took place right after the Uniondale Charter School ceremony.

According to a statement released by the police department, officers responded to an assault at 1000 Hempstead Turnpike. The altercation involved two male victims, with one sustaining a slash on the back of his left thigh and the other on his right ear.

Sources indicated that the attack, carried out by masked individuals, appeared to be targeted. The incident occurred outside the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex at Hofstra University in Hempstead shortly after the graduation ceremony concluded.

Reports confirmed that an adult guest was slashed in the leg, while a graduate was slashed in the ear during the altercation. School officials from Academy Charter High Schools suggested that the attack may have stemmed from a domestic dispute.

Academy Charter High Schools emphasized that all attendees had passed through security checks before entering the graduation venue. The security team is said to be cooperating with Nassau County Police and Hofstra Public Safety officers in the investigation.

Both victims were promptly taken to healthcare facilities for treatment and are expected to recover from their injuries. The six individuals arrested have been charged with attempted gang assault, assault, and criminal possession of a weapon by the Nassau County Police Department.

They were scheduled to appear in court for arraignment on Thursday to face the charges brought against them.
