Sitting Congress legislator Chintamani Maharaj joins BJP in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: Miffed at being denied a ticket for the November elections, sitting Congress MLA from Samri constituency, Chintamani Maharaj, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday. The Congress legislator returned to the BJP fold in the presence of party election in-charge Om Mathur and state organizational secretary Pawan Sai.

He is the third legislator from the ruling Congress who has turned rebel after being denied tickets to contest the election.
