A new cafe and event space is preparing to open outside Glasgow Queen Street at the site of iconic city centre pub The Value.
The Vale, which sat opposite the entrance to Queen Street Station on Dundas Street, had a loyal following of punters before having to close for the Queen Street redevelopment works in 2016.
At the time, it was considered the pub would reopen on completion of the works, then set for 2020, however, pints haven't been poured for six years, with the space temporarily used as a ScotRail ticket off.

Now, Dundas House premises is being converted into a new coffee shop and event space, Kaffateria, which will serve 'locally roasted coffee, Glasgow-brewed craft beer and casual food to-go.
Plans for the conversion were submitted to Glasgow City Council in August of last year and are viewable in full here.
In 2016, we reported on the pub's closure, with the then owners vowing: “We're no goin' away.”
For years the Dundas Street venue had been considered one of the best places in the city to catch live music, with Franz Ferdinand, Ginger Wildheart and Justin Currie just some of the big names to have performed there.
Kaffateria are now hiring for staff ahead of the opening and those interested are encouraged to contact hello@kaffateria.com
