A heartbroken sister wants justice after her brother was allegedly forced to down 22 shots before being robbed and left for dead in a strip club in Poland. Mark Cocks, 36, from Loftus in North Yorkshire was holidaying in Krakow in 2017.
It is believed he was targeted by a gang who rob tourists at the Wild Night strip club, reports the Mirror. The Leeds United fan was left with a fatal blood alcohol level after allegedly being forced to down the booze, according to Poland National Prosecutor's Office.
Now, Polish authorities have made seven arrests in connection with his death, but his sister Samantha told The Sun that despite there being seven new arrests, the family was told that "nobody was being held accountable" for her brother's death.
His sister Samantha told The Sun: "The last we heard from the serious crime squad - who were investigating Mark's death and dealing with the inquest - was that they weren't looking into the crimes and goings on in those establishments. So why is this coming out now?"
She claims some of the police account is untrue, including the allegation that Mark was drunk upon arrival at the club.
After his death his mum Pat said: “Everybody loved Mark, he was really the life and soul. He was always happy and upbeat, and positive. He didn’t have a bad word about anyone, and nobody had a bad word about him. Mark was supposed to walk me down the aisle when I get married next year - he’ll be missed so much by every one.”
Hundreds gathered at St Leonard’s Church to remember Mark, who worked as a tool setter at TC Industries. Family and friends sported Leeds United shirts during the funeral.
Samantha said Mark was a brilliant uncle to her two daughters, enjoyed karaoke and loved Eminem. The probe discovered that there was a web of clubs in the area that would rob their patrons after getting them drunk.
The Polish Central Police Investigation Bureau (CBSP) claim they have now filed over 700 criminal charges against the group. They also say that they have arrested the group who forced Mark to drink himself to death.
