Sir Tom Jones recently had to postpone a concert in Budapest, Hungary, due to health issues.
He is currently touring Europe with his Surrounded by Time tour.
It was reported that the It's Not Usual singer had to cancel his concert as he 'collapsed' before the show and doctors had to be 'called to the stadium'.
The 82-year-old singer called the reports 'pure rumours' and said he had to postpone the show due to 'viral laryngitis'.
"A specialist came to visit and diagnosed 'viral laryngitis'. He strongly advised postponing this evening's show and prescribed medication and vocal rest," he shared on social media.
The legendary singer adamantly continued: "I did NOT 'collapse' anywhere at any time, that is pure rumour.
"Hopefully the inflammation will calm soon as I am looking forward to continuing my wonderful summer tour."
Over the years, Sir Tom had a few bacterial infections and health scares which caused him to be hospitalised.
Severe Dehydration
In 2011, it was rumoured that the Sexbomb singer had a heart attack after he was forced to cancel a Monte Carlo concert.
The singer took to his website to deny the rumours and claimed his illness was due to a long successful tour.
He said that 'many of the shows were in locations that were in the throes of high summer heat.'
A statement was also released, saying: "Sir Tom was ordered by doctors not to perform in Monte Carlo yesterday evening due to severe dehydration."
"This was extremely disappointing for Tom, the band and all connected with the tour."
Bacterial Infection
The Green, Green Grass Of Home icon was hospitalised with a bacterial infection back in 2018.
It wasn't until several years later that the star revealed he ignored his doctor's advice to 'slow down' following the hospitalisation.
Speaking to Jen Long on her podcast, Talk The Line, he said: "Part of this album was a reaction to coming out of the hospital and a doctor telling you to slow down, and you were like, ’Nah’.”
Tom replied: “Exactly, I had an infection, and he said, ‘Ah well, you know'. I said, ‘I’ve got shows to do! And there’s nothing wrong with my voice’."
At the time, he was forced to cancel five shows and he shared the news on his website.
"The condition is being well managed and we are hoping for a speedy recovery," a statement read.
