Sir Tom Jones has addressed claims he collapsed after having to pull out of a concert in Budapest. The 82-year-old was forced to postpone the gig on his Surrounded by Time tour on Tuesday, July 12.
There had been reports on several news sites that he had "collapsed" just before going on stage, but the legendary singer dismissed this as "pure rumour" in a statement issued on his social media accounts. The update, which was posted on Twitter in the early hours of Wednesday morning, said he had travelled to the Hungarian capital but had woken on Tuesday morning with an "uncomfortable throat".
Later in the day he was diagnosed with viral laryngitis, and was adamant that he did not collapse "anywhere at any time". The news comes just weeks after the Pontypridd star took to the stage at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff as part of the massive Stereophonics gig. You can read more about that here.
