Sir Tom Jones collapses on stage suddenly ahead of Edinburgh Princes Street Gardens show

Music icon Sir Tom Jones has had to cancel his Budapest gig after falling ill on stage, ahead of his trip to Edinburgh in August.

The singer has reportedly had to postpone the gig in Budapest after collapsing on stage, reports BirminghamLive. Tom is said to have taken unwell at the Hungarian capital's MVM Dome, as he tours Europe with his new show, titled Time.

A source told the Daily Mail: "Tom Jones collapsed, so his concert was cancelled tonight and doctors were called to the stadium. His management has set August 16th as the new date for the concert."

The 55-date tour is set to return to America for more shows, before heading to Edinburgh on Wednesday, August 10, and Thursday, August 11. Announcing the worldwide tour in April, Tom said: "Really looking forward to hitting the road across UK/Europe this summer!"

The singer will be joined by support act The Shires in Edinburgh's Princes Street Gardens for the Summer Sessions festival. Other acts featured at the Summer Sessions in Edinburgh include Simple Minds, Travis, and Michael Kiwanuka.

We hope Sir Tom Jones recovers well in order to perform in Edinburgh in just a few weeks time. Both shows are now sold out on the Summer Sessions website.
