Sir Stirling Moss’ widow dies 'of broken heart' 2 years after motor racing legend's death

Sir Stirling Moss’ widow has died at the age of 69 just two years after her husband's death.

Lady Susie Moss' sister shared the news that she's passed away two years after the motor racing legend.

"My beloved sister died of a broken heart," Susie's older sister Tina told the Daily Mail.

"She never recovered after Stirling left us. Their marriage was the greatest love story I have ever known."

Motor racing great Sir Stirling Moss died peacefully at home in the early hours of Easter morning, with his wife, Lady Susie, by his side in 2020.

She had nursed the 90-year-old through a long illness.

“He died as he lived, looking wonderful," she said at the time.

"He simply tired in the end and he just closed his beautiful eyes and that was that."

She added: "It was one lap too many. He just closed his eyes."

Tributes flooded in from across the world for Moss, who won 212 of his 529 races in various competitions.

Despite being recognised as one of the greatest drivers of all time, he ultimately became known as the best driver never to win a Formula One title.

Lady Moss revealed at the time that they planned to have their cremated ashes laid to rest together.

“When the time comes my pot can go next to his and then we can be thrown away together," she said at the time.
