Sir Rod Stewart has ruled himself out of preforming at King Charles' Coronation concert but says his model and television presenter wife Penny Lancaster will be on duty as special constable.
The Maggie-May chanter has a residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, so will be there instead on May 7.
Sir Rod was knighted by the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Place in 2016. Last year, at the late Queen's Platinum Jubilee concert Rod led a singalong of Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.
Ruling himself out of the event this summer, he said: "No, I won't be there. I think I have worn out my royal welcome. I think I will leave it to someone else. I will be in Las Vegas, writes The Mirror.
"But my wife will be on duty as a policewoman though."
Loose Women panelist Penny has been a special constable with City of London Police since April 2021.
Meanwhile, members of the iconic 90s band the Spice Girls are set to reunite to sing at King Charles III royal coronation, a source has revealed.
The formal event will see His Majesty officially inducted in his new royal role as King in a three day celebration from May 6 to 8 - an important occasion which could see the legendary girl group reform of a one off performance as royal organisers try to secure the act.
If confirmed, it will be the first time in over 10 years since members, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Mel Chisholm, Gerry Halliwell and Emma Bunton take stage as a full group - last joining forces to sing at the 2012 Olympics closing ceremony in London.
