Sir Rod Stewart called out Russian President Vladimir Putin during his Edinburgh Castle gig on Thursday night.
The 78-year-old entertained crowds at the famous esplanade during a rainy performance but took aim at the controversial leader while showing appreciation for the people of Russia.
Including the world-famous castle in his UK tour, the singer-songwriter attracted tens of thousands of fans with many memorable moments including a Sunshine on Leith rendition courtesy of two Bay City Rollers band members.

However, mid way through his set, Sir Rod spoke of his admiration for Russia, having visited five times. He said: "Let's really sing this one for them. They're good people, really great people.
"You know what? I've been to Russia five times and they're all good people apart from one of them - the a******* Putin," which was met by loud cheers from the crowd.
Another standout moment of the night on Thursday was when staff rushed onto the stage armed with brushes to sweep away water that had leaked onto the stage, with Rod jokingly directing them.
The legendary singer will return to the castle for night two of his Edinburgh visit on Friday. The 78-year-old took to the stage to perform some of his biggest hits including 'Maggie May' and 'Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?' as part of his summer tour.
