Sir Kenny Dalglish has hailed Celtic supporters after the Scottish giants sold over 4,000 tickets for Saturday's legends game against Liverpool.
Kop icon Dalglish will lead a star-studded collection of former Liverpool players out at Anfield tomorrow afternoon in the club’s annual LFC Foundation charity match. The Reds have hosted Manchester United and Barcelona in recent years.
All the proceeds raised from the game will support a range of LFC Foundation's and partner charities' programmes, including schools, inclusive sports, social action, health and wellbeing, and food poverty. Steven Gerrard is the big name in the Reds’ squad, which also includes Sami Hyypia, Gary McAllister, Steve McManaman, Robbie Keane and Dirk Kuyt.

While Stiliyan Petrov will captain the Celts, with his side’s squad including Mikael Lustig, Joe Ledley, Emilio Izaguirre and Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink. And taking to Twitter on Thursday night, the Celtic Foundation revealed that over 4,000 Hoops fans are expected to be in attendance at Anfield.
They said: “Over 4000 of our supporters will make the trip to Anfield this Saturday, packing out the away section of the stadium.” And this led to Dalglish writing in response: “This is a credit to @CelticFC fans. My 2 favourite Clubs in British football, both with the same values, and I couldn’t be prouder of my relationship with them both. I look forward to seeing both sets of fans on Saturday.”
