Sir Elton John celebrated his 76th birthday in style this weekend and his beloved husband David Furnish went all out when it came to the thoughtful gift he surprised his other half with.
The Rocket Man hitmaker spent his special day with his husband David, 60, and their two children Zachary Furnish-John, 13, and Elijah Furnish-John, 10.
Sharing an insight into his magical birthday celebrations, Elton took to Instagram to gush over how loved he felt on his day of birth.
The iconic music star shared a number of snaps from the occasion as he and his nearest and dearest celebrated in style with a parade of huge balloons, a personalised cake and the incredible gift of one hundred Oak trees from his beloved husband.
Alongside the joyful snaps of his milestone birthday celebrations, the music legend penned: "I absolutely loved my birthday! A magical day with @davidfurnish and our beautiful sons.
"From the most spectacular cake - to the gift of 100 Oak trees grown from acorns off the old tree that’s been gracing my driveway for centuries, it was a real celebration.
"Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the friends and fans who sent flowers and beautiful messages."
The I'm Still Standing hitmaker has been smashing out hits for more than 50 years and while his current tour is set to be his last, he has vowed to continue making music even though he won’t take it on the road.
Staying true to his word, Sir Elton has now reportedly been contacted by fellow music icon Dolly Parton to create a new tune.
It is reported that 77-year-old Dolly working on a new Rock n Roll album and asked Sir Elton to join her in the studio to make a track.
A source recently told The Sun: “Elton is a massive fan of Dolly - she is a gay icon, after all. He heard that she wanted to work with him and leapt at the chance.
“Elton loves collaborating and who better to do so with than a bona fide music legend?”
And it might not be the only track the pair will collaborate on as it is believed Elton and Dolly have teamed up to re-record a new version of his iconic song Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me.
