SIR ALEX FERGUSON believes Arbroath boss Dick Campbell should have landed the manager of the year award ahead of Ange Postecoglou.
The Celtic manager scooped the Scottish Football Writers' award and the PFA gong after winning the Premiership title with the Hoops.
For Sir Alex though, he reckons Campbell's promotion push with part-time Arbroath was more of an achievement.
The legendary Manchester United boss recorded a video message for his old pal ahead of the 'Evening with Dick Campbell' show at Glasgow's Saint Luke’s venue.
He said: “Dick in tribute to you tonight in front of a great audience. Tom Callaghan has been asking questions about you, I could give a few myself but I don’t want to embarrass you tonight.
I asked Sir Alex to send a video message to play to Dick Campbell during the live show tonight, and the top man delivered. Gentleman. pic.twitter.com/xw3yjSHezQ

“What a great season you’ve had, Dick.
“I said, when I told you the other day, you should have been Manager of the Year.”
Arbroath narrowly missed out on promotion to the Scottish Premiership after finishing just two points behind Kilmarnock.
